Take your novice photography skills to the next level with a wildlife-focused photography workshop & hike led by local photographer Josh Beecher. Start the day with some photography instruction and then put your skills to the test while you hike and visit the largest animal refuge in Arkansas.

Level up in your nature photography skills in this one-of-a-kind landscape and wildlife workshop. Get ready for an incredible day of adventure in the Ozarks, all while learning the basic skills necessary for stunning Landscape & wildlife photography. Start the day at Kings River Overlook Trail to take landscape and nature photos and learn about camera settings, lighting, and composition basics. The trail is 1.2 miles out and back and ends with a breathtaking view on top of the bluffs overlooking Kings River and rolling Arkansas hills.

After the hike, continue to Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, the top-rated destination in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Their mission is to provide lifetime sanctuary for the survivors of the exotic pet trade. Turpentine Creek has rescued over 100 big cats such as tigers and lions from abusive or neglectful captive environments. They now live on over 450 acres of protected land and enjoy veterinary care and much more. Practice your new skills as we take a guided tour of the grounds to learn about and photograph these amazing creatures. After lunch, take a short drive into Eureka Springs to visit Brews in Eureka Springs for a local beer, coffee, or snack. Share your best photos of the day with other group members and solidify everything you’ve learned about photography throughout the day. Then, we’ll drive back to Springfield after an adventurous day exploring & photographing the Ozarks.
