After this easy hike, we will visit a 180-year old structure packed with history: the War Eagle Mill. After visiting the Mill, we will take a guided tour of War Eagle Cavern from a local expert.

A great day exploring the Ozarks while learning about the area’s history. Enjoy the Ozark's mixed forest, karst features, and outstanding views of Beaver Lake through a 4.4 mile hike at Hobbs State Park. With its 400 ft elevation change, be ready to be amused by the diversity of terrain and scenery you will encounter: from running creeks to a breathtaking view of Beaver Lake.

After this easy hike, we will visit a 180-year old structure packed with history: the War Eagle Mill. The mill was built around 1832 by a pioneer couple who chose this as the perfect location to establish their new home and mill. It was destroyed three times and last rebuilt in 1973 with many of the original features of the Mill. Today, War Eagle Mill is the only working mill in Arkansas and it is still powered by an eighteen-foot cypress waterwheel.

After visiting the Mill, we will take a guided tour of War Eagle Cavern from a local expert in caving. Since its opening in 1978, the cave has been left in its natural state as much as possible. It has been home to Indians, moonshiners, squatters, and draft-dodgers - and currently, over 75,000 bats! War Eagle Cavern will uncover the beauty of underground structures through its unusual domes, rimstone dams, underground stream and waterfalls.
