Today's adventure is going to be very special. We will start our day at Ha Ha Tonka, one of Missouri's most beautiful State Parks. From dark caves, to castle ruins perched on a cliff, the park is the perfect place for the adventurous. Ha Ha Tonka brings together beautiful landscapes, geological wonderland, and history through its scattered oaks, prairie grasses, sinkholes, a natural bridge, a spring, and the ruins of the turn-of-the-century stone castle. After a hike that explores the many features of the park, we will visit Leaky Roof Meadery. It is named after an old railroad out of Springfield through Ash Grove. This railroad was originally built to haul coal, marble and clay tile out of Henry County to the major commercial hubs, Springfield and Kansas City. It then turned into a lifeline of the area, connecting the region by hauling agricultural products. Many of the drinks are named after this period of history!

Mead is an alcoholic product created from the fermentation of honey and water by yeast, this is the base for a variety of beverages by adding beer, cider/fruits or even spices. Mead can range from dry to sweet, flat or carbonated and from strong to weak alcohol content.
